Nuad Bo’Rarn is the Thai practice of healing touch, simply translated as ‘Ancient Massage’. This healing art has evolved within the villages, temples and royal courts of Thailand for over 2,000 years, and is steeped in the compassionate teachings of the Buddha. It is a rich tradition that offers a clear direction towards wellness and longevity.
It is distinguished by it’s complete range of stretching postures derived from the system of yoga, offering similar health benefits. Thai medicine regards the body as energy and outlines a system of subtle anatomy channel and points through which flows Citta, the non-physical quality of both the heart and the mind. Each massage is aimed at restoring this flow of energy by working along 10 primary channels, a painless form of acupressure massage.
Performed fully-clothed on a massage mat, the recipient is guided through a fluid series of postures, with no effort, simply relaxing into the practitioners support. All regions of the body are addressed, renewing a sense of wholeness. Every session is tailored to each person’s condition of health and range of motion, making it comfortable for any age or level of fitness.
